WELCOME ALL VISITORS TO OUR WEBSITE!!

Welcome all visitors to the official Internet home of the Maritime Indian Hockey Association, or the MIHA as it is better known.  We are very excited about the opportunity to establish our organization on this web site in order to give our communities a more up to date and concrete tool to use for upcoming tournaments, viewing rules and regulations and changes to these as well as updated suspension lists.  We feel that by doing this, we are working our way to being more accountable to our communities and the hockey leagues, tournaments and members that we are doing our best to serve.

The MIHA is a volunteer organization that is currently going through a restructuring process and is being spearheaded by the Nova Scotia Mi'kmaw Youth, Recreation & Active Circle for Living (MYRACL) with support from the Aboriginal Sport bodies of New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

In the following pages, you will find information that will help you learn more about the MIHA, it's tournament co-ordinators and their host dates as well as contact information.  You will also find an updated version of the current MIHA rules as well as various topics of discussion such as the creation of a new database of players from all divisions through a registration process due to start in the fall of 2005.

CHANGES IN THE MIHA RULES & KEEPING UP TO DATE!!

We are asking, especially the coaches and managers of teams, to please keep up with any changes to the MIHA Rules by participating in any meetings of the MIHA Committee (either in person or via teleconference) and as well contribute to the process by helping by making any recommendations that will help our league and it's divisions a better place to play.

The MIHA Committee would also like to express our sincere thanks to all of the tournament co-ordinators, their volunteer crews as well as the host communities for supporting the development of the sport of Aboriginal hockey.

Please find attached below, some links to updated stories that we are working on and should you have any questions or comments, please send your inquiries through the 'contact us' page that you will find above.

Wela'liek,
Robert Bernard, Executive Director,
Nova Scotia Mi'kmaw Youth, Recreation & Active Circle for Living (MYRACL)
