2005 NATIONAL ABORIGINAL HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIPS (NAHC) TEAM ATLANTIC (MALE & FEMALE)

The 2005 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships (NAHC) will be hosted in Mirimachi, New Brunswick from April 17-23, 2005 and we will be sending two teams that will be representing the Atlantic Provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland/Labrador.

Twenty-four (24) of the best male and female players born between the years of 1987-1991 (male division) and as well for the female division (1987-1991) with an allowance of five (5) overage female players born between the years of 1984-1986.  These players will go on to represent Team Atlantic at the 2005 NAHC.

In the process of establishing some tryout dates and times for the Atlantic Region, the organizing committee for Team Atlantic have decided to host a few different "regional" tryout sessions to have a look at the players available in both the male and female categories and have set the following times and location for the Nova Scotia region.

NEXT TRYOUT DATES (TEAM ATLANTIC):

Date:       Wednesday, January 26th, 2005
Place:     Eskasoni First Nation, N.S.
Time:      5:00pm - 10:00pm (both Male & Female Teams)

Schedule of Icetime for that evening is as follows:

Male Team:

5:00pm-6:30pm      (Ice time)
6:30pm-7:30pm      (Supper Break) - Meals served at the Esk Cultural Ctr.
8:00pm-9:00pm      (Scrimmage)

Female Team:

5:00pm-:6:00pm      (Supper - Meals served at the Esk. Cultural Ctr.)
6:30pm-8:00pm       (Ice Time)
8:00pm-9:00pm       (Break)
9:00pm-10:00pm     (Scrimmage)

All male and female players that are currently playing in high caliber hockey are highly encouraged to attend. This is a "Nova Scotia" tryout where we are going to pick only 12-15 players from this group to attend a second tryout camp that will be heading to Mirimachi, New Brunswick in February to make the final cut of 24 players. This goes for both the male and female teams.  (PLEASE SEE INFO BELOW)...

The full coaching and management staff for both the male and female teams will be on hand to evaluate players to invite to the next set of tryout camps.

All players selected for the final group of twenty four players will be asked to attend any planned "exhibition games" either in Nova Scotia or New Brunswick prior to the nationals and as well will be staying at the host hotel (Rodd's Inn, Miramachi, New Brunswick) throughout the entire 2005 NAHC tournament.
